Copyright and Licensing Policy

Authors who publish with Green Medical Journal (GMJ) agree to the following terms:

  1. Copyright Ownership and First Publication Rights

Authors retain the copyright of their published work. By publishing with GMJ, authors grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/). This license permits others to copy, redistribute, adapt, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the initial publication in GMJ is acknowledged. Any adapted material must be distributed under the same license as the original work.

  2. Authors’ Rights to Share and Distribute Their Work

Authors may enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of their work, provided that such arrangements acknowledge its initial publication in GMJ and are consistent with the applicable Creative Commons license. Examples include depositing the article in an institutional repository, sharing it on a personal or institutional website, or including it in a book.

  3. Reuse and Attribution

Readers and other users may share and adapt articles published in GMJ in accordance with the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Users must provide appropriate attribution to the original author(s), cite the article’s original publication in GMJ, include a link to the license, and indicate whether changes have been made. Users must not impose additional legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

  4. Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted work is original, that they have the necessary rights to publish all included content, and that any third-party material is properly acknowledged and used with the required permission or under an applicable license. Authors must disclose any third-party content that is subject to separate copyright or licensing terms.

  5. Journal Commitment

GMJ is committed to promoting the dissemination of scientific knowledge while respecting authors’ copyright and the principles of open access. This policy is intended to ensure transparent licensing, appropriate attribution, and responsible reuse of scholarly work published in the journal.
